<description>PENGARUH TINGKAT DISIPLIN ABK DALAM MENGGUNAKAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI (APD) TERHADAP KECELAKAAN KERJA DIATAS KAPAL MT. ERAWAN I PADA TAHUN 2015 - 2016
Ilahi, Kurnia
Kurnia Ilahi, 2025. “The Effect of Crew Discipline Level in Using Personal Protective&#13;
Equipment (PPE) on Work Accidents Aboard MT. Erawan I.”&#13;
Occupational safety on board a ship is a crucial aspect to ensure the smoothness of&#13;
operations and the protection of crew members from potential hazards. One of the key&#13;
factors affecting work safety is the level of discipline among the crew (ABK) in using&#13;
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This study aims to determine the effect of crew&#13;
discipline in using PPE on the occurrence of work accidents aboard MT. Erawan I.&#13;
This research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method.&#13;
The data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 respondents, who are&#13;
active crew members aboard MT. Erawan I operated by PT. Pelayaran Sakti Erawan.&#13;
The sampling technique used was saturated sampling (total sampling). Data analysis&#13;
was conducted using SPSS version 27, including validity, reliability, Pearson&#13;
correlation, and simple linear regression tests.&#13;
The results show a very strong negative correlation between crew discipline and work&#13;
accidents, with a correlation coefficient (r) = -0.806 and significance value 0.000 &lt;&#13;
0.05, indicating a significant relationship. The regression equation obtained was Y =&#13;
36.304 − 0.525X + e, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.6496, meaning that&#13;
64.96% of variations in work accidents can be explained by the level of crew discipline&#13;
in using PPE, while the remaining 35.04% is influenced by other factors beyond the&#13;
model.&#13;
The conclusion of this study indicates that an increase in crew discipline in using PPE&#13;
consistently reduces the risk of work accidents on board. Therefore, shipping companies&#13;
should strengthen safety culture and discipline through continuous training, strict&#13;
supervision, and the implementation of balanced reward and sanction systems.

<title>OPTIMALISASI PELAKSANAAN DINAS JAGA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEWASPADAAN DAN KEAMANAN KAPAL DI MT. SAMUDRA SAKTI VIII</title>

HIDAYAT, DEVIS APRILIAN
DEVIS APRILIAN HIDAYAT, 2025, Optimization of Watchkeeping&#13;
Implementation to Enhance Ship Vigilance and Security on MT. Samudra Sakti VIII&#13;
The implementation of watchkeeping on the ship MT. Samudra Sakti VIII has&#13;
not been optimal, characterized by weak supervision from the officers on watch and&#13;
non-functional radio communication between personnel. This has resulted in&#13;
security gaps, such as the loss of ship equipment, and indicates a disparity between&#13;
field practices and international standards SOLAS and STCW. This study aims to&#13;
analyze the factors causing the suboptimal watchkeeping and provide&#13;
recommendations to improve crew discipline and the effectiveness of supervision.&#13;
The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through&#13;
direct observation and interviews with officers and Crew Members (ABK).&#13;
The results reveal that the root of the problem lies in five main factors: low&#13;
discipline and understanding of procedures among the crew, inconsistent&#13;
supervision by the officers on watch, ineffective communication, lack of motivation&#13;
and proper shift management, and limitations of supporting facilities. The&#13;
recommended solutions are the implementation of strict Standard Operating&#13;
Procedures (SOP) for watchkeeping, increasing the frequency of routine&#13;
inspections, optimizing the use of radio communication, and conducting ongoing&#13;
training and safety meetings. The implementation of these measures is expected to&#13;
close security gaps and significantly enhance ship vigilance.

<title>OPTIMALISASI KINERJA DYNAMIC POSITIONING OPERATOR UNTUK MENUNJANG KELANCARAN OPERASIONAL MV. BIGFOOT 1</title>

This study aims to analyze the factors that lead to the suboptimal operation of the&#13;
Dynamic Positioning System (DP System) on board MV. Bigfoot 1, as well as to formulate&#13;
efforts to improve the performance of the Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO). The DP&#13;
System plays a crucial role in maintaining the vessel’s position automatically during&#13;
subsea pipeline installation and other offshore operations. However, observations&#13;
revealed two main issues: the lack of competence and readiness of the Junior DP&#13;
Operator, and technical disturbances in the DP equipment that directly affect the vessel’s&#13;
operational effectiveness.&#13;
The research was conducted using a qualitative approach through direct onboard&#13;
observation, interviews with relevant officers, and documentation studies based on the&#13;
DP manual book, log book records, and maintenance data. The results show that limited&#13;
familiarization with the specific type of DP system installed on board, inadequate&#13;
understanding of ship-handling maneuvers, and minimal experience in dealing with&#13;
extreme environmental conditions were the primary causes of operational errors.&#13;
Additionally, technical issues such as damaged transducer sensors, suboptimal routine&#13;
maintenance, and limited availability of spare parts further reduced the system’s&#13;
reliability.&#13;
The recommended solutions include providing specialized training using the DP&#13;
System onboard and implementing the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) consistently.&#13;
Training aims to enhance the operator’s technical skills and operational readiness, while&#13;
PMS ensures equipment reliability and prevents unexpected failures. By applying these&#13;
solutions, the performance of the DP System can be improved, the risk of loss of position&#13;
minimized, and the overall operational continuity of the vessel can be ensured.

<description>ANALISIS FAKTOR PENYEBAB KERUSAKAN MUATAN SEMEN PADA PROSES LINE LOADING DI MV. PERKASA DAN UPAYA OPTIMALISASINYA
PERMANA, ACHMAD WANGGA
Wangga Permana, Achmad. 2025. “Analysis of Factors Causing Cement Cargo&#13;
Damage in the Line loading Process on MV. Perkasa and Optimazation Efforts”&#13;
The importance of efficient cement distribution in supporting infrastructur&#13;
development in Indonesia, especially in remote areas accsible only by sea, is paramount.&#13;
MV. Perkasa faces challanges related to cement cargo damage during the loading process,&#13;
particularly during line loading. This research aims to identify the factors causing cement&#13;
cargo damage during the line loading process on MV. Perkasa, analyze the negative&#13;
impact of cement cargo damage, and explore efforts to optimize the loading process. The&#13;
research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including&#13;
observation, interviews, adn documentation. The data is analyzed thematically to identify&#13;
the factors causing cargo damage, the impacts, and the optimization efforts that can be&#13;
implemented.&#13;
The research result indicate that the factors causing cement cargo damage include&#13;
suboptimal equipment checks, the skills of the crew, and poorly maintained equipment&#13;
conditions. The impact of cement cargo damage includes delays (demurrage) and labor&#13;
losses for the crew. Furthermore, the optimization efforts that can be implemented include&#13;
improving the skills and familiarization of the crew regarding the operation of loading&#13;
equipment, increasing the maintenance of loading equipment, and supervision by officers&#13;
on board the ship. This research is expected to contribute to scientific knowledge and&#13;
insight, as well as provide solutions for cement carrier vessles.
